Thunderscores Music Library

Thunderscores is a boutique music library that has an emphasis on live instruments, and a more classical music feel. Many of our pieces have earned their stripes.  They've appeared on documentaries for CH4, BBC. ITV Discover and other channels.  'The Hunt' below (BBC2 'Under the Sun' series), scored by Stephen Daltry,  won a Cultural Prix Italia in 1999.

Box and Fir

The Windsor Box&Fir Co is a distinguished ensemble, specialising in the performance of 18th Century music on instruments of the period at concerts, weddings, and corporate and private entertainments. Appearances include the London Handel Festival, Jane Austen’s House in Chawton, Classic FM, the Guildhall in York, BBC1 Television, Goodnestone Park, Channel 4, Nottingham University, BBC Radio, to name a few!

Anne Allen- Professional Flautist

Anne Allen, an experienced and award winning professional flautist, excels as both a soloist, ensemble and orchestral player. She has been seen and heard on TV and radio and in prestigious venues across the world, such as the Royal Albert Hall.  I had the pleasure of her profound and beautiful playing on my soundtrack 'The Lost World of Mr Hardy' and my CD 'Years in the Shade'.

The Ancora Duo

Formed in 2008 by award-winning soloists Anne Allen (flute) and Sarah Freestone (guitar), their debut CD Entrada was released in 2009.  They regularly perform recital programmes around the UK and internationally as well as being asked to play for many weddings and corporate functions.

Christmas The Musical

Christmas The Musical is an exciting musical interpretation of the Nativity which brings together industry professionals and talented people in the local community to retell this timeless story in a fresh new way.  It received a fantastic response at Battersea Mess and Music Hall last December - a medium-scale community show which features eight original tracks written by songwriter S E Hooks. A show CD will be available soon.

FRANCESCA PHILLIPS

Francesca Phillips is a very talented fine art and documentary photographer and filmmaker.  Most recently she has completed a project on the Trappists, a beautiful and moving photographic portrait of life inside the enclosed monastic order of the Cistercians.  In 2009 she wrote, produced and directed Written in the Wind, a documentary on the whistling language of la Gomera in the Canary Islands, for which I wrote the score. This is the Digital Studio for Research in Design, Visualisation and Communication, based at the Department of Architecture at the University of Cambridge.  I am an affiliated member and  have been a visiting tutor here.  It was founded in 1998 to stimulate teaching, research and creative practice. DIGIS developed and supported the practice-based MPhil 'Architecture and the Moving Image' 1998-2005.
