Stephen Daltry: Pianist

My grandfather Cyril Daltry played the piano beautifully.  He was a mathematician and played for pleasure; he particularly loved Chopin and Liszt.  He was an inspiration to me as a young boy - it was always a treat to visit Grandpa and play on his Bechstein grand piano.

I later studied at Christ Church College, Canterbury, where I gained a First in Music in 1983; and received a scholarship in Music Composition at the National Film School, Beaconsfield, (1990-1994) I  studied pianoforte with Jean Phillips at Christ Church College, Canterbury and with Dr Frank May in Pianoforte at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Part-time Studies.  As a composer my favourite thing of all is to write for the piano.  You can hear a few of my pieces at the Music Clips page, as well as searching in the library on the home page.

I  teach pianoforte at all levels, beginners to advanced, and I generally teach in pupils' homes.  Do get in touch if you would like to find out more.  You can also check out www.thetutorpages.com/tutor/stephen-daltry
